Turn on two-factor authentication

Add two-factor authentication to your Sendwin account, and store a per-profile TOTP secret so a site's login code is one click away.

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second step to a login so a password alone isn't enough to get in. Sendwin supports 2FA in two distinct places: on your Sendwin account, and inside an individual profile for the sites you manage.

These are separate. Account 2FA protects your Sendwin login; per-profile 2FA keeps a site's own two-factor secret with the profile so the current code is always handy.

Protect your Sendwin account

Your Sendwin account supports both email verification and two-factor authentication. Turn on 2FA from your account in the portal at portal.send.win.

  1. 1Go to portal.send.win and sign in to your account.
  2. 2Open your account security settings and enable two-factor authentication.
  3. 3Follow the prompts to finish setup, then keep your recovery details somewhere safe.

Tip

In the desktop app you sign in with Sign in with browser, which opens the portal. Google sign-in and 2FA both work there, so you never type your password into the app.

Per-profile 2FA for the sites you manage

Each profile can store its own TOTP two-factor secret. Save a site's 2FA secret into the profile and the current code is one click away when that site asks for it. This secret stays on your machine with the rest of the profile's data.

  1. Open the profile you want to protect.
  2. Add the site's TOTP secret to that profile.
  3. When the site prompts for a code, generate the current one in a click.

Note

Per-profile TOTP secrets stay on your machine, just like the profile's cookies.
