One active session per surface

Sendwin allows one active session per surface: a web login and a desktop login can coexist, but a new login on either kicks the old one.

Sendwin enforces a single active session per surface. A "surface" is where you're signed in: the web (your browser and the portal) and the desktop app are two separate surfaces.

This keeps your account secure without getting in the way of normal use, since the desktop app and the web can be signed in at the same time.

How it works

  • A web login and a desktop login can coexist. Being signed in on the app does not sign you out of the portal, and vice versa.
  • A new web login kicks the previous web login. If you sign in on the web somewhere else, the earlier web session ends.
  • A new desktop login kicks the previous desktop login. Signing in to the app on another computer ends the earlier app session.

Note

In short: web-kicks-web and desktop-kicks-desktop, but web and desktop never kick each other.

What this means for you

If you were signed out of the portal unexpectedly, it usually means you (or someone with your account) signed in to the web somewhere else. The same goes for the desktop app being signed out.

You sign in to the app with Sign in with browser, which opens portal.send.win; sign in normally there (Google sign-in and 2FA are supported) and the app picks up the session.

Heads up

If you didn't start a new login and your session ended unexpectedly, change your password and turn on two-factor authentication, then contact [email protected] if it continues.
